Quick answer

How does Velumhold web hosting work, from payment to a live site?

Velumhold sells private web hosting from $2.49 a month on the yearly term. You top up a crypto balance, order a plan, and a person on the team creates your hosting account within 24 hours of the confirmed payment. The control panel login then appears in your dashboard. You point your domain to the account and the site is live. No ID is ever asked.

Who creates my hosting account, and how long does it take?

A person on the team creates each hosting account. A member of the team creates your hosting account after your payment is confirmed, within 24 hours, so delivery is not instant; follow its status in the dashboard until the control panel login appears.

At checkout you pick a plan, a term, a location and a starting point. Pick “WordPress, installed” at checkout and the account arrives with WordPress set up on your domain; pick “Empty account” to upload your own site.

That is slower than an automatic checkout, and we say so. The pricing page lists the plans and their terms.

How do I sign in, and what if I lose my account number?

Your account number alone signs you in; an email address is yours to add or to leave out. Nothing asks for a phone number.

Keep your account number somewhere safe: whoever holds it holds the account. With an email on file the number can be recovered; with no email, a lost number stays lost. Store the number in a password manager. Nobody from our team will ever ask for your account number, your control panel password or your private SSH key, by email or in a chat.

What does the control panel give me?

You manage everything from a web control panel: files, domains, email accounts, databases, SSL and backups. Give an SSH public key at checkout for SFTP and SSH, or leave it blank; the panel login always comes with the account.

The panel address, the user name and the password show in your dashboard once the account exists.

How do I point my domain to the account?

Domains are not sold here: point a domain you own to the account with two nameservers or an A record.

Add the domain in the control panel, and change its nameservers or its A record at the place where you bought it. A move from another host is covered in how to move your website without downtime.

How does SSL work?

Free SSL certificates (Let’s Encrypt), issued and renewed automatically for every domain on the account. You do not buy, install or renew a certificate by hand.

How does email work?

Email accounts on your own domain with webmail, IMAP and SMTP; outgoing mail is rate-limited to keep spam off the servers.

Tulle has 10 email accounts. Chiffon and Velvet have unlimited email accounts. Because outgoing mail is rate-limited, these accounts are for your own correspondence, not for bulk mailing. The records and settings are explained in email hosting on your own domain.

How do backups work?

Automatic daily backups of files and databases, kept for 7 to 30 days depending on the plan; restore one from the control panel or ask support.

Tulle keeps its backups for 7 days, Chiffon for 14 days and Velvet for 30 days. A backup on the same account is not a second copy of your site, so keep one of your own for anything you cannot lose.

How do I move an existing site in?

Moving an existing site in is free: send support a backup or the old host’s login and the team copies it over.

Write to [email protected] with the backup or the old login. A person answers within 12 hours.

What do we hold, and what do we not hold?

We hold only what billing and running your account need: the account number and an email if you add one; every top-up and order (amount, coin, network, transaction ID, date); and per hosting account its plan, term, location, starting point, SSH public key if you gave one, and dates. No record leaves us without an order from a Panamanian court.

We keep no logs of who you are: no connection records of the dashboard and no IP addresses of customers. The web server keeps the access logs of your own sites in your account, for you, and you can switch them off.

No KYC, at signup or at any later point: no ID, no selfie, no documents, no card, no phone number.

The full list is in the privacy policy.

Which law applies to Velumhold?

Velumhold belongs to DomaineGoat LLC, a company incorporated in Panama that answers to Panamanian law alone. Each datacenter that houses our servers is bound by the law of the country it sits in.

DMCA notices and other foreign copyright notices get no response from us; we answer only to Panamanian law and to the orders of Panamanian courts.

The rules you accept are in the terms of service and the acceptable use policy.

How are abuse reports handled?

Reports go to [email protected]. Foreign copyright notices are set aside; only Panamanian law and Panamanian court orders count. Spam, phishing, malware, botnet command, attacks, fraud and child sexual abuse material are banned and lead to suspension. Each rule is spelled out in the acceptable use policy.

What happens when a term ends?

You prepay each hosting account from a crypto balance for a term of 1 month, 3 months, 6 months or 12 months, chosen at checkout. With auto-renew, the same term is charged again at your original price, unless you pick another term for the next renewal in the dashboard; if the balance cannot cover it, the sites stop when the term ends, the files are kept for 7 days and then deleted.

Your balance has no expiry date and pays for any of your hosting accounts. It is not paid back out unless the law requires it; the one exception is the unspent part of a top-up made only to reach the minimum, which returns in USDT or USDC if you ask within 30 days of payment.

A renewal keeps the price of your order. Hosts that print a renewal price do otherwise: according to Velumhold's survey of 2 November 2026, all 14 plans at the 5 hosts that print both a first-term and a renewal price renew higher.

What are the honest limits?

What Velumhold does not do:

  • No instant setup: a person creates each account, so delivery takes up to 24 hours, not seconds.
  • No free trial: the smallest plan, Tulle, costs $3.56 for one month.
  • No domains for sale: you bring a domain you own.
  • Limited outgoing email: outgoing mail is rate-limited to keep spam off the servers.
  • No uptime percentage: we publish none. If an account goes down and support cannot bring it back, the days out of service return to your balance.
  • Crypto only: payment is in crypto and nothing else: BTC, USDT, USDC, ETH, SOL, LTC.

How we work: common questions

When will my hosting account be ready after I pay?

Not instantly. A member of the team creates your hosting account after your payment is confirmed, within 24 hours, so delivery is not instant; follow its status in the dashboard until the control panel login appears. Setup time: 24 hours at the latest, starting once your payment is confirmed.

Do you ever ask for identity documents?

Never. No KYC, at signup or at any later point: no ID, no selfie, no documents, no card, no phone number. An account is a number, and giving an email is up to you.

What happens when I stop adding funds to my balance?

You prepay each hosting account from a crypto balance for a term of 1 month, 3 months, 6 months or 12 months, chosen at checkout. With auto-renew, the same term is charged again at your original price, unless you pick another term for the next renewal in the dashboard; if the balance cannot cover it, the sites stop when the term ends, the files are kept for 7 days and then deleted.

Can I restore a backup myself?

Yes. Automatic daily backups of files and databases, kept for 7 to 30 days depending on the plan; restore one from the control panel or ask support.

Does Velumhold keep logs?

We keep no logs of who you are: no connection records of the dashboard and no IP addresses of customers. The web server keeps the access logs of your own sites in your account, for you, and you can switch them off. The records that are kept are listed in the privacy policy.
