Quick answer

Does Hostinger accept crypto, and does it ask for ID?

Yes. On 2 November 2026, Hostinger lists crypto as a payment method, and a 2021 post names CoinGate as its processor. Its pages do not say that crypto avoids ID: its help center asks selected accounts for a government ID within 7 days. At Velumhold the rule is simple: No KYC, at signup or at any later point: no ID, no selfie, no documents, no card, no phone number. Plans start at $2.49 a month.

What do Hostinger's own pages say about crypto?

One row per fact, with the source and its date. Where an article shows no date, we give the “modified” date in its page metadata.

Does Hostinger ask for ID?

Sometimes, for selected accounts. Hostinger's help center says it runs identity verification (KYC) on accounts it selects for suspicious activity. You get a request by email, and a banner in the dashboard reminds you until you finish.

The article lists a government-issued ID, proof of the suspended domain, business registration if it applies, and proof of address. You have 7 days. After that the account and its active services are suspended, though you can still transfer domains and reach backups. The page metadata shows it was modified on 29 October 2026.

Signup itself asks for less. The privacy policy (revised 14 October 2026) names an email address and a password as the minimum. It says name and contact details, including identity verification, may be requested in particular cases such as domain registration. It also says Hostinger collects IP addresses and log data automatically, even if you have no account.

Payments can be checked too. A separate article on flagged payments lists triggers such as VPN or proxy use, mismatched billing details and unrecognized devices, and asks for proof such as a card photo or a bank statement. It does not mention crypto.

Our survey reads this as “conditional”: email and password at signup, billing details at checkout, mainstream anti-fraud checks possible. The survey did not test a checkout. According to Velumhold's survey of 2 November 2026, Hostinger is one of 8 of the 18 hosts it read whose ID check is conditional, and all 3 of its shared plans renew at 2.6 to 3.4 times their 12-month first-term price. Hosts with no ID step are listed in web hosting without ID verification.

What is still unknown about Hostinger, crypto and ID?

  • Whether crypto changes your odds of an ID request. Hostinger's pages tie requests to suspicious activity and flagged payments, not to the payment method.
  • What CoinGate asks of payers on Hostinger invoices. CoinGate's glossary says a shopper needs no KYC and gives travel-rule information at checkout, a data step rather than full identity verification. Hostinger does not say whether that applies to its invoices, and the CoinGate page shows no date.
  • The current coin list. The payments page names none. The 2021 post points to CoinGate's list.
  • Availability by plan and country. Payment methods are listed by regional brand, and crypto is missing for some. Plan-level availability is not stated.
  • What your checkout will show. We did not test one.

Until Hostinger says more, treat an ID request as possible whatever you pay with.

Its 48-month offer of the day was $2.49 a month for Premium, also renewing at $10.99, and Premium includes a free domain on terms of 12 months or more. What happens to a crypto payment I want back?

At Hostinger, it is not refunded. The refund policy says products bought with cryptocurrencies, tokens or digital assets will not be refunded. The help center adds that the 30-day window covers payments by any method other than crypto.

At Velumhold: If we cannot deliver a hosting account, or it goes down and support cannot bring it back, the days it was out of service return to your balance. Balances do not expire. Money on the balance is not paid back out unless the law requires it, with one exception: if part of a top-up was paid only to reach the minimum and is still unspent, ask within 30 days of payment and it comes back in USDT or USDC.

How else do Hostinger and Velumhold differ?

  • Ways to pay. Hostinger takes cards, PayPal, Apple Pay, Google Pay and Alipay as well as crypto. Velumhold takes crypto only.
  • A refund window on other payments. Hostinger refunds within 30 days when you pay by a method other than crypto. At Velumhold: No free trial: the smallest plan, Tulle, costs $3.56 for one month, or $2.49 a month on the yearly term.
  • Setup. We did not measure Hostinger's setup time. At Velumhold: A member of the team creates your hosting account after your payment is confirmed, within 24 hours, so delivery is not instant; follow its status in the dashboard until the control panel login appears.

Both hosts are scored on the same rules in the best web hosting that accepts crypto.

How do I check before paying Hostinger in crypto?

Four checks, all on public pages.

  2. Read the refund policy

A crypto purchase is final. If you are unsure, pay for a shorter term.

  3. Read the identity verification article

Know what a request looks like and its 7-day deadline.

Note which processor and which coins appear before you send anything.
